the sun and the moon

the lunar new year is here. the sun is day and the moon is night. the earth goes round the sun and the moon goes round the earth. in a way, the sun has dominion over us and we have dominion over the moon. we need the sun to survive. we have been to the moon. we have to work in the day, we can choose to work at night too. the sun a source of righteous power, the moon blur and ambiguous, we make what we make of it as it waxes and wanes. we stare at the moon, and go blind if we stared at the sun. the moon belongs to us. we belong to the sun.

hello everybody

i'm Brak, and this is the adultswim news... tonight i will explain to the many viewers what this "many-body" problem is all about. since so many of you have asked (actually, no one did, but this is my show, so i get to make up stuff), i'll tell you.

it's a field of physics dealing with several objects, like planets and stars attracting each other and that kind of thing. it gets quite difficult when there are 3 or more objects involved, all interacting with each other (kinda like if in billiards the balls were electrostatically charged and repelled and attracted all the time).

baabye!

p.s. it's a metaphor for society, of course, a cool problem waiting to be solved.

for love... (a mini manifesto)

A physical poet stands for love, understanding. Science, progress through knowledge, moving from fact to interpretation. Truth (with a capital T, since it is the first word in a sentence) is essential, and it can always only be an approximation (for physical, empirically deduced truths), an approximation through multiplicity. Sentience is the joy of life. We must each think for ourselves.

We have a grave responsibility to put ethics back into our lives. Respect for life, for freedom, is best assured through individual responsibility. Apathy that tells us we do not matter is the main corruption that allows wrongs to persist, to prevail.

A physical poet represents the two greatest forms of power necessary to fight evil. This power, and the responsibility for this power, should always be decentralized, cherished and preserved by every individual. These two things: Words and Weapons, they are free speech and self-defence.

Without this power, institutionalized injustice is immortal. Everyone has a fundamental right to education and a means of self-defence. We must fight for this.

I am, and think I am a physical poet. I will actually put up a few poems here, in time.

- physical poetry -

i kinda thought that physical poetry has already been defined, and i'm right, as far as google is concerned. the idea is basically poetry that involves the physical body, sorta like performance poetry, a cross between theatre and poetry. that's one definition. another interpretation is that it's poetry that focusses on the physical world, as opposed to the more feeling/emotion-driven or metaphysical types of poetry (dealing with philosophy and what-not).

the way i use the term to describe my work is somewhat different, in that "physical" derives from physics (rather than vice-versa). in this sense, physical poetry is almost like that second "other than metaphysical" type of poetry, but with more of a scientific leaning. savvy?

p.s. Pirates of the Carribean is a good movie. Johnny is cute.

Beer Pong – A Community Dilemma
Ping Pong balls continue to disappear at a rapid rate at the newly installed community ping pong table “on the stones” in Wilcox Hall. Your College Office does not have an unlimited supply of ping pong balls, and if they continue to disappear for other games which the College Office does not condone or support, the supply of balls will be exhausted. Sporting equipment can be purchased locally at the following locations:

Dick’s Sporting Goods – Affordable. (Who named this place?)
Target – Cheap.
Wal-Mart – Cheaper.

Exhaust the College supply, and Ping Pong as we know it may be no more. Got balls? Drop them in the supply bucket located near the gaming table. Help us help you to continue to play a healthy game.
