this blog has died, but not quite dead, or actually, more in the sense of if it was dead then it was lying around without giving off a foul smell of being dead, for it was still on the internet. it just had not moved for days, and was playing dead. but it's really more like working dead.
there are lots of deer here, at NIST. or maybe they're not called deer, but anyway, i'm not sure how they survive the winter, but they do. they have no clothes, and it's freezing out. and there's snow on the ground, and the grass is all yellow and withered and covered in snow too, did i mention? and i see them poke around and presumably they're eating the yellow snow-covered grass.
they leave nice hoof prints, though, unlike us hunter-humans, the most dangerous carnivores alive. the holes in the snow left behind by them are round, not elongated like shoes. but i guess in china when they still bound feet, ok, but let's not think about that, it's gross. my instant reaction is *gross* and then i wince and then i get angry, but not too angry, because it no longer happens, or so i think, so maybe i should still be angry, since after all women are still not getting their due.
anyway... like i was saying, this blog was pseudo-dead, but i did not kill it. i may be human, and humans may be destructive, but i did not kill it. people usually ask me if neutron beams can kill you. well, they're dangerous, and if you get blasted by the beam long enough, you would probably die.
it's late, and i'm not sure what we're doing here (at NIST). i expect we'll be going off soon.
oh, at dinner i got a fortune cookie that said me and my wife are going to be very happy, or something to that effect. they should have said spouse, because there's a 50% chance the fortune would not be true. i'm not against lesbian marriage or anything, rather, i'm for it, but you know what i mean. i mean, the fortune is already going to be wrong in quite a lot of cases. but ultimately, i quibble, because i got the fortune, and it's my fortune, and the fortune is true. =)
