The last I heard about Boston Public, the main criticism was that it tried too hard to be a chapalang running commentary about too many social issues all at once. Personally I don't agree, and it just goes so show how complex the school microcosm can be and how thin the veneer of teacher teaching, student learning/sleeping is.
i think the show handles these issues really well, showcasing student problems, teacher problems, student-teacher problems, school problems, but always brimming with hope! i guess i don't mind the chapalang-ness or lack of continuity (if any) because it's like when i watch then i watch, and i always love it!
by the way, i'm surprised you bother to read my blog, AcidFlask! not much exciting happening here =)

i like the show too! It's not showing here anymore is it?
i'm a fan of most David Kelly's shows...ally mcbeal, the practice...boston public....they're all funny, quirky and yet thought provoking.
